Pelvic Pain and Chronic Pelvic Pain
Pelvic pain can affect both men and women
Pelvic pain affects both men and women. We are seeing more and more people with pelvic pain, often chronic, perhaps because of better awareness that something can be done
It is a complex and debilitating condition of pain over the lumbar spine, pelvis, perineum, testicles, groin and/or abdomen. It may be constantly painful, painful on activity and/or during sexual intercourse.
It is a complex issue requiring a sophisticated appreciation of the interplay between the various potential influences and sources of pain and specialist assessment and treatment.
Specialist Physiotherapy can help improve or resolve chronic pelvic pain and treatments may include exercise, correction of pelvic or spinal dysfunction, myofascial techniques, massage and acupuncture.
PELVIC PAIN MAY INVOLVE
Sacroiliac joint and pubic and issues
Coccygeal pain
Pelvic floor problems
Spinal issues of the low thoracic and lumbar spine
Local nerve entrapment and irritation
Visceral problems
Sensitivities within the neurological system
